Exhibition of Dürer

Hi everyone. Today I would like to talk you about an art exhibition that I visited this week and I really liked it, it’s ‘‘Dürer, Master of the Renaissance in Chile’’, that presently it’s exhibiting in the Cultural Corporation of Las Condes.
Albrecht Dürer was German painter, engraver and printmaker of the Renaissance age. He lived between 1471 and 1528. It´s considered one of the most important artist in the history of art, his portraits and self-portraits are some of the most notables and prolific in the painting history. Some of his greatest paintings are Adam and Eve, Lamentation for Christ, Saint Jerome, Portrait Diptych of Dürer's Parents, and his numerous and enigmatic self-portraits.
At the time that Dürer was a master in the painting, he also cultivate prolifically the art of the engrave, being the author of some of the most complex, beautiful and profound engravings in the history of art. And in the exhibition of the Cultural Corporation of Las Condes it’s being exposed 113 engravings of the German artist. It’s a prominent and valuable collection of engravings, one of the greatest in the world, and in that collection there are the best works of Dürer, like Melancholia I, Knight, Dead and the Devil, The Madonna with the Monkey,  Coat of Arms with a Skull, among others.

The exhibition is free and until the May 25th , 2014, so there’s still a lot of time to go and enjoy of some of the greatest works in the history of the western art.
