Restaurants

I don´t really like to go out to eat in restaurants, locals, or places like that. I always prefer eat at my house, because I don´t feel too comfortable eating out and usually I think that it’s too expensive eat out. The restaurants or that kind of places normally collect too much money for food that you can eat at your home with a price more cheap and sometimes more delicious.
I’m so simple to eat, I don´t have particular tastes or special favorite foods. I don´t really like too much eat, usually I eat just when I’m really hungry or when have something delicious.
So, normally when I lunch, I lunch at my house or I eat something fast or simple for the hungry, and then I buy some fast-food like hot dogs, hamburgers, a simple bread or just cookies or candies. I’m just too lazy to eat a real lunch and I’m not always like it.
So I don´t really have a special place to eat, and I don’t really know particular places to lunch or something like that. I know a really few number of names of restaurants and I never go to that places, so I can’t say a specific place.

Presentation

My presentation will be about a book of the Anglo-American writer Thomas Stearns Eliot, it`s a long poem called The Wasteland published in 1922.
The presentation that I will do it`s divide in three principal areas: some biographical aspects of the author of the book, the content of the poem, and his possible connections with the sociology.
I chose this topic to talk about, because I think the book it`s some of the most values sources of the devastated condition of the post-first world war scene in Europe and how this made a decadence of the European human being and his social relationships, all synthesized in the metaphor of the wasting of the land.

Also I consider Eliot it’s maybe the most relevant and complex poet in the English language of the twenty century. I read this book some months ago and I was really surprised of the varied interpretations that could be take in the sense of the poem, like the marriage crisis of the author, the infertility, the sexual decadence, the nervous disorder of Eliot, or the spiritual asceticism suggested in the work; but the perspective that I will present it`s the historical and social consequences of the First World War in the European continent and the European society.

Exhibition of Dürer

Hi everyone. Today I would like to talk you about an art exhibition that I visited this week and I really liked it, it’s ‘‘Dürer, Master of the Renaissance in Chile’’, that presently it’s exhibiting in the Cultural Corporation of Las Condes.
Albrecht Dürer was German painter, engraver and printmaker of the Renaissance age. He lived between 1471 and 1528. It´s considered one of the most important artist in the history of art, his portraits and self-portraits are some of the most notables and prolific in the painting history. Some of his greatest paintings are Adam and Eve, Lamentation for Christ, Saint Jerome, Portrait Diptych of Dürer's Parents, and his numerous and enigmatic self-portraits.
At the time that Dürer was a master in the painting, he also cultivate prolifically the art of the engrave, being the author of some of the most complex, beautiful and profound engravings in the history of art. And in the exhibition of the Cultural Corporation of Las Condes it’s being exposed 113 engravings of the German artist. It’s a prominent and valuable collection of engravings, one of the greatest in the world, and in that collection there are the best works of Dürer, like Melancholia I, Knight, Dead and the Devil, The Madonna with the Monkey,  Coat of Arms with a Skull, among others.

The exhibition is free and until the May 25th , 2014, so there’s still a lot of time to go and enjoy of some of the greatest works in the history of the western art.
